Jamal Jackson Has D-1 Interest

Jamal Jackson, a jet-quick 5-10, 155 pound point guard from Des Moines Area C.C. in Des Moines, Ia., has attracted some Division I recruiting interest this winter.
DMACC Head Coach Orv Salmon told JUCO Junction/Rivalshoops.com that Marist, Siena, UM-KC, Howard and Maine are currently recruiting the Newark, N.J., native.

Jackson first gained notoriety playing for Kevin Boyle's St. Patrick H.S. program in Elizabeth, N.J., and wrapped up his career with a year at Notre Dame Prep in Fitchburg, Mass two years ago.
Jackson has been part of a resurgence at Des Moines, averaging 14 points, 7.3 assists and 3.5 steals per game for the Bears this season. DMACC boasts a 15-1 record and is ranked number one in the current NJCAA Division II poll.
Jackson has yet to take any official visits, and Salmon said that his point guard will not do so until the completion of the basketball season.
A tough minded floor general who can push tempo and is very effective in open court situations, Jackson is tough to contain off the dribble and is a pesky defender. He is not a particularly good outside shooter.
Salmon said he expects Jackson to graduate in the summer.
Since Jackson won't make a decision until the spring, his recruitment is likely to evolve over the coming weeks, and JUCO Junction/Rivalshoops.com will keep you posted on his situation.
