Jackson to make it official

It came down two three schools, but a successful in-home visit with his hometown school sealed the deal for five-star prospect Joe Jackson.
According to Jackson's travel team coach Eric Robinson of the Memphis Magic, Jackson will officially announce his commitment to Memphis at a press conference scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Central on Friday.

On Wednesday night Coach Pastner conducted an in-home visit with Jackson.
Jackson, a 5-foot-11, 160-pound point guard from Memphis White Station High School was also considering Kansas and Tennessee.
With elite five-star shooting guard Will Barton already committed, Memphis is bringing in the top backcourt, at least to date, in the 2010 class. Barton's brother Antonio Barton is also committed to Memphis from the 2010 class.
Jackson is the No. 12 ranked prospect in the Rivals150.
Joe Jackson scouting report:
One of the top perimeter athletes in the 2010 class, Jackson is a dynamic scorer. With an explosive burst he can get to the basket and finish in traffic while also possessing a reliable stroke from deep. When not in the scoring mode, he can create scoring opportunities for his teammates with his penetration. Highly competitive, Jackson is also a disruptive defender.
