Jackson Talks About His Decision

Johnnie Jackson of Fairley H.S. in Memphis, Tenn., told us he chose Boston College because of the balance of academics and athletics. "I want a challenge in both areas," Jackson told us after he selected the Eagles over UAB, Providence, and Massachusetts.
"I took a visit there last week and I loved it," Jackson said. "I got a chance to meet the players and all of the coaches. I got along great with everyone."

Jackson, a 6-5, 190 pound swingman, averaged 23 points and eight rebounds per game as a senior, earning all-state and all-city acclaim for his efforts.
RivalsHoops.com saw Jackson play three times this season at a tournament in New York. It was then when Boston College first scouted Jackson. They started recruiting him last December and made the offer too. It appears that Boston College has picked up a top 100 player.
"Coach (Bill, BC assistant coach) Coen really recruited me hard," Jackson said. "He watched me alot. I get along great with him. It was nice to meet the other coaches on my visit."
Jackson still has to qualify academically. "I am just short on the test," Jackson said. "I take the ACT in June. I am waiting on my May test."
Johnnie told us he will work on one area this summer. "I want to get stronger," Jackson said. "I am going to lift weights and be in the best shape I can be."
