Jackson Has Two Trips

One of the better wing players available this spring, Johnnie Jackson of Fairley H.S. in Memphis, Tenn., is mulling a pair of official visits.
Jackson, a 6-5, 190 pound swingman, told the Insiders Report/Rivalshoops.com that he could visit UAB and Boston College over the next two weekends.

UAB Head Coach Mike Anderson was in Jackson's home on Apr. 16, and the two discussed a potential Apr. 19-21 official visit. Jackson said there's an 80 percent chance he'll be in Birmingham this weekend.
As for Boston College, Jackson said that the Eagles [in addition to the Blazers] have offered a scholarship. He is tentatively slated to visit B.C. the weekend of Apr. 26-28.
Providence and Arkansas State have also offered, Jackson said, while St. John's, UMass and Ohio University have also inquired. Ohio University is scheduled to be in town on Apr. 17 for an in-home visit.
Jackson averaged 23 points and eight rebounds per game as a senior, earning all-state and all-city acclaim for his efforts.
The big sticking point with Jackson remains his test score. He told us that he has a 3.2 GPA, but has been stuck on 16 on the ACT for quite some time.
Should he be unable to qualify, Jackson said he has been in contact with some junior colleges, including Kankakee in Illinois and Northeast Mississippi in Boonville, Miss.
We'll keep you posted on Jackson's situation as the signing period continues to unfold, so keep it here for more information.
