J.R. Morris Lights It Up At Seton Hall

SOUTH ORANGE, NEW JERSEY -- With the Seton Hall assistants looking on, J.R. Morris of Christian Faith Center gave the Pirates faithful something positive to think about for next season.
Morris, who has committed to Seton Hall and is currently working on his academic status at the prep school, scored 29 points, 17 in the second half, to help Christian Faith Center drop Philadelphia Prep (Celestial), 96-91, at the Eastern Jamboree held on the campus of Seton Hall University.

Morris scored from all over the court -- on drives to the basket, short jumpers in the lane, long-range shots from each side of the court, and on free throws.
The great performance by Morris offset some very good games by Zakee Boyd, who had 26 points, and Aaron Cook, who added 20 points, for Philadelphia Prep. Boyd, a junior, and Cook, a senior, kept Philadelphia in the game right until the final buzzer.
In fact, Christian Faith only led by two points, 41-39, heading into the half. Doug Thomas scored eight of his 11 points in the first half to help Christian Faith Center keep the advantage through the first 20 minutes of play.
CFC also got a big performance out of Dewayne Green, who had 21 points. More on Green later on this site. Demarshy Johnson also had a big night for the winners. He added 16 points.
Antwaun Miller, who scores most of his points on battling hard inside the paint, had 12 points for the losers.
