J.R. Lands MVP At Five Star

Let's be honest right from the start here. There was no defense played at today's Orange-White All-Star game in Honesdale, Penn., at the Five-Star camp. In fact, the score, 171-115, should be enough to give the proper details of the game.
But J.R. Smith certainly was near the top of his game today in a star-filled game. Smith scored 26 points and also dished out 10 assists in helping his Orange team win easily.

Smith hammered home several sky-touching dunks and a few from behind his back as well. But what was impressive about Smith's game today was his ability to take his handle to the basket and find open teammates for baskets.
J.R. is the subject of an intense recruiting battle. He has four teams on his list. "North Carolina, N.C. State, Syracuse, and Pittsburgh are the schools," Smith said. "I don't have any idea when I might make up his mind."
Smith could certainly make a decision if he felt completely comfortable about a school. Today was not that day. But in Smith's situation, anything is possible. "I would like to take some visits so I can compare the schools," Smith said. "I don't know when I might take those though."
Smith, 6-foot-5, 180-pounds from St. Benedict's High School in New Jersey, is considered a serious candidate for the McDonald's All American game. He is currently listed as the 13th best player in the 2004 class in the Rivals150.
