Ivorys Verbal not so Solid

Coach Lonnie Brooks at Marriott Hospitality Public Charter High School has told RivalsHoops.com that his new big man Anthony Ivory is now keeping his options open after having earlier committed to Providence.
“Anthony committed earlier to Providence, but his options are still open,” explained Coach Brooks. “I think the reason he verballed was that when he got hurt Providence was still interested and offered. Other schools backed off, and he didn’t know if he would be 100% this year. Now that he is 100%, he is willing to take some visits.”

Coach Brooks, in his second year at the young charter school in Washington, D.C., listed Ivory as 6-foot-10, 290-pounds. He sat out his junior year with his injury after having played at National Christian Academy.
Coach Brooks listed Providence, Florida, Houston, Georgetown, Florida State, Marshall, Clemson, and Nebraska as options for Ivory.
“I am not certain which schools have officially made offers,” Brooks said. “Coaches want to come up and see him play because of his injury. Houston was just up here, and I had a call today from Nebraska. They want to watch Anthony and Jerome [Habel] play.”
Because of the late opening up of his recruitment, Ivory will probably sign in the spring.
“All of my guys want to sign late,” said Brooks. “And they are not just hyped on the big name programs. They want to get in a program where they can contribute right away.”
