IU Inquires About Big Man

Bridgton Academy head coach Whit Lesure said tonight there are plenty of high-profile schools that are interested in his former player, Larry Turner, a 6-10, 225-pound center/power forward. "Larry is a good kid and worked hard for us while he was with us," Lesure said. "He had honor grades and took several difficult courses. He did all the work. He can be a great student/athlete for a major school."
And the major schools are inquiring. Lesure said that Indiana head coach Mike Davis called today to express interest. "I spoke to Larry today," Lesure said. "It was nice to hear from him. He told me right now he is going to visit three schools, perhaps even one more."

The three schools that are getting official visits are Alabama, Connecticut, and Oklahoma. Sources tell us that Turner is currently on the campus of Alabama. "Larry told me he didn't think he would commit on the Alabama visit because he wanted to see some other schools," Lesure said. "But you never know."
Besides those three schools and Indiana, Ohio State has also spoken to Turner and is hoping to convince Larry to take an official visit to the Columbus campus after he is done with his first three visits.
Turner was recently rejected by the Georgia admissions office, opening up his recruiting process. Since he was rejected admission wise, he is eligible to play this winter for any division one program.
