Italian point guard making waves at Findlay

To most of the recruiting world, Amedeo Della Valle is still a mystery. However, that's likely to change this season.
An Italian import who has landed at mighty Henderson (Nev.) Findlay Prep, Della Valle is a big senior guard with a big overseas reputation.

"He's a phenomenal player," said Findlay assistant Todd Simon. "He was a major get coming over from Italy. Not a lot of Italians come over and got he college route, it's pretty rare."
So far, Della Valle has been impressive in preseason workouts. He's showcased a rare blend of size and skill.
"He's a 6-6 plus point guard in shoes who can do a little bit of everything," Simon told Rivals.com. "He's slender but he's adding weight on and he can really shoot it. His basketball IQ is off the charts and he plays hard."
So far, every school that has been in the gym at Findlay has taken notice of Della Valle while schools like California, Arizona, Utah, St. Mary's, Portland, Gonzaga and UMass, are among those who have showed a little extra attention.
But, Della Valle is a guy that coaches are just starting to learn about and more attention is expected.
"I've got a laundry list of coaches that are going to come this way and check things out," said Simon. "I've got at least five or 10 more schools that have said they are going to poke their heads in at some point."
Because he's new to the country and schools are just getting familiar with him, Della Valle is in no rush to make a decision and will most likely be a spring recruit.
"He's taking a wait and see approach and will sign in the spring," said Simon. "He's going to get immersed in the culture and watch college basketball. He's going to do his homework and study the situations and go about this the right way."
