Omari Isreal, a strong 6-6, 215 pound small forward/swingman from Good Counsel H.S. in Wheaton, Md., has taken in a grand weekend at Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana, according to sources close to Isreal.
Omari watched the Fighting Irish football team knock off Purdue before a loud, supportive crowd. Sources close to Isreal tell us he has been very impressed with the visit thus far but has not yet made an official decision.
But those who know Omari well and have spoken to him this weekend, indicate the visit is going so well he might decide to make a decision soon. This would be great news for Notre Dame and its fans if Omari decided to take the offer this weekend.
Remember, Isreal previously told us he had offers on the table. Isreal said that Rhode Island, Penn State, Virginia, Notre Dame, and West Virginia had extended the scholarship offers to him.
He also had seen interest this summer from Georgia Tech, Maryland and Tennessee, but those programs did not offer the talented small forward from Rockville, Md. After attending the ABCD Camp and Three Stripes Tournament earlier this month, he concluded his summer out west with D.C. Assault at both the Big Time and Best of Summer Tournaments.
