Irving makes it official

One school was prominent throughout Kyrie Irving's recruitment. Now this ACC school has a commitment from the elite combo guard out of Elizabeth (N.J.) St. Patrick High School.
During a televised announcement, Irving, 6 feet 2, 175-pounds, announced his commitment to Duke.

He noted his relationship with Coach K, the entire coaching staff and the players as the major factor in his decision.
Irving's commitment will catapult Duke's 2010 recruiting class into contention for a top-five spot in the Rivals.com 2010 national recruiting rankings. Duke's ranking could move up even farther if they are able to land their last recruiting target Harrison Barnes, the No. 2 ranked prospect in the Rivals150.
Irving, the No. 9 ranked prospect in the Rivals150, had also visited Kentucky and Texas A&M and cancelled scheduled visits to Georgia Tech and Seton Hall.
Kyrie Irving scouting report:
A highly skilled combo guard, Irving has a great feel for creating scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates. He has great touch while shooting on the move and can make a variety of shots. Defensively, he has exceptional hands and creates turnovers with his ability to anticipate plays.
