Irish Ready To Romance Carter

It's traditionally one of the better weekends in South Bend during the spring. And the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame will roll out the red carpet for 2003 recruit Russell Carter that weekend when the annual Blue-Gold football game takes place in two weeks. This weekend is Easter and the Irish will bypass to observe the Catholic holy day. Instead, Notre Dame will have Carter on its campus the weekend of April 25th.
Carter, who took a campus trip to William & Mary recently, is likely to make his decision after he has a chance to spend 48 hours with the Irish staff and players.

Carter, a 6-4, 180-pound combo guard from Paulsboro High School in Paulsboro, New Jersey (about 30 minutes from Philadelphia), is a guard who can score in bunches. Previously, Russell's coach at Paulsboro, Mike Ricci, told RivalsHoops.com that Carter was being recruited Vanderbilt, St. Joseph's, UMass, Providence, James Madison, Boston University, LaSalle, Drexel, Penn, William and Mary, and Rutgers. James Madison, Boston University, Drexel, and William and Mary have offered. But a source tells us right now that the Irish and William & Mary are being seriously.
Carter, who averaged over 30 points a game and close to 12 rebounds, can flat out fill it up. Russell also sports fine academic credentials, carrying a 3.8 GPA and having scored 1140 on the SAT.
