Iowa State added their third player from the class of 2018 and second from the state of Illinois on Monday when George Conditt Jr. committed.

A bit of a late-blooming big man from Chicago, Conditt saw his stock take off during the early summer and Iowa State jumped right in on the 6-foot-10 big man whose father played football for the Cyclones.

"Coach (Steve) Prohm and them got right on me," Conditt told Rivals.com. during the summer. "With my dad having gone there I know a lot about them and they are trying to be on the rise."

Though Conditt is rail thin and likely needs some time in the Cyclones weight room before he can become a major factor, there is a lot of upside to like. He runs very well, he has terrific hands, he is a very good passer and he can make things happen facing the hoop and either shooting or attacking off the dribble from the high post.

"I think I'm skilled," said Conditt. "I play hard, I want to win and I want to do what I can to get better."

Conditt joins a class that already includes fellow Illinois product Zion Griffin a four-star wing and Rivals150 combo guard Tyrese Haliburton.

The Cyclones still have one more state of Illinois target in site. Four-star wing Talen Horton-Tucker is slated to visit officially in two weeks.
