Iowa Gets In-state Verbal

Mike Henderson, the 6-3, 190 pound point guard from Waterloo East (IA) High School who took back a verbal commitment he had given to Iowa State in the fall of 2001, has orally committed to another in-state school. The Iowa Hawkeyes are the recipient of his decision, according to our affiliate HawkeyeNation.com.
Other schools that had recruited Henderson included Oklahoma, North Carolina, Florida, Arizona and Georgia Tech.

This is good news for the Big Ten school which earlier this week found out that redshirt freshman Marcellus Sommerville, the 6-6 swingman from Central High School in Peoria, IL, had decided to leave the team "for personal reasons."
Earlier, the Hawkeyes lost another redshirt freshman, Erek Hansen, a 6-10, 205 pound power forward/center from Trinity High School in Bedford, Texas, who has enrolled at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to address some academic isses.
