Intimidating Center Switches Schools

Ben Elias, an intimidating 6-10, 245 pound center from Tallahassee, Fla., will attend Bridgton Academy in Maine for the 2002-2003 school year.
While a bit rough around the edges offensively, Elias is a physical banger who moves very well for his size. He will definitely be examined closely this summer by many high major programs.

Elias, who attended Rickards H.S. in Tallahassee this past year, told the Insiders Report/Rivalshoops.com that he was being looked at by New Orleans, Florida State and Florida A&M as a senior in 2001-2002. Elias has initially given New Orleans a commitment. But now he told us he is open.
At Rickards, he averaged 17 points, 15 rebounds and 10 blocks per game. He will suit up for Whit Lesure's Bridgton program next winter, but this summer he'll continue to hone his game and get exposure with the JOTS.
Look for the Pittsburgh JOTS and Elias at the adidas Big Time Tournament in Las Vegas as well as the AAU Nationals in Florida. We'll keep you abreast of his situation in the weeks to come, so stay tuned.
