Ingram, whose strongest point is his ability to take the ball to the basket and finish, will be working on his ball handling this summer in order to be better prepared to handle the combo guard position at the next level. He's also will be hitting the weight room during the "off" season.
"I have offers from North Carolina State and East Carolina," Ingram said. "And I'm also getting interest from Georgia Tech, Maryland, Wake Forest, Florida State and Oklahoma." While Ingram is leaning toward staying close to home, he is willing to consider other options. No visits have been scheduled yet.
Ingram, who carries a 3.0 GPA, said he has already received a qualifying score on the SAT. Presently he's considering majoring in mechanical or electrical engineering.
He indicated that when he's making a decision on his future college, academics will be his primary criteria. "A good major can take you a long way," he noted. A successful and well-respected basketball program will be another factor as will comfortable surroundings at the college and on the campus.
Ingram plays with the NC Red Storm AAU program and will be attending the Nike Invitational this July in Indianaoplis. "I intend to choose a school this summer, in June or July," he added.
Finally, Ingram said he hasn't decided whether or not he'll return to Kinston for his senior year.
