Inge rewrites record books

James Inge certainly knows how to close out a high school career.
The 6-foot-4, 180-pound shooting guard from Woodrow Wilson High School in Camden, N.J. recently scored 74 points in a game, breaking a school record.

"Needless to say, it was kind of crazy," Inge said. "I scored 21 in the first quarter and from there on I just kept scoring and scoring and scoring. It was weird though, I only hit one three pointer all game."
Inge said most of his points came at the bucket and midrange shots. Not bad for a guy that had a 38-point game as a career high prior to his record-breaking night. He set a career high in the first half alone. He finished the first 16 minutes with 44 points.
His scoring outburst came on the heels of another record-breaking game. The unsigned Inge scored 29 points and ripped down 26 rebounds in a game, a state high this year on the glass.
There must be something about his hometown. Former Camden prep star Dajuan Wagner scored 100 points in high school.
But unlike Wagner, Inge didn't make a national splash quite like the former Memphis star. Nevertheless, he hopes word continues to get out in hopes that his recruitment continues to bloster.
Already with offers from Delaware, LaSalle and Temple in hand, Inge said Dayton, Seton Hall and UC-Riverside have all started to recruit him.
His twin brother, Semaj, is a freshman at Temple this season. After watching his brother go through the process last year, James said he knows he needs to formulate a list of schools he would like to visit.
He said if he had to pick today, Dayton, Delaware, Seton Hall and UC-Riverside would be getting a visit.
Even with a handful of schools actively involved, Inge said he is still open.
With the season now over and the 74 point game now vaulted away in Jersey's legendary performance file, Inge is hoping to break more records at the next level.
