INDIANAPOLIS – Day two from Indianapolis brought fireworks from the various courts throughout the Midwestern city. Some of the top names from the Nike and Under Armour circuits hit the floor running in stride but it was Scottie Lewis, a five-star sophomore wing, that ended the night in excellent fashion displaying just why he is so highly-regarded.

Recruitment: St. John’s, Duke, Kansas, Seton Hall, Kentucky and Florida

His day: A human jumping jack, there is nothing ordinary about Lewis. He is a first-class athlete, a tremendous defender and is now rounding out into an unstoppable piece on the offensive end. Outside of his highlight reel dunk, Lewis did everything that you would want from a top-10 prospect as he continues to cement himself as one of the best out of the 2019 class.

Quote: “On May 5, we are going to take a visit to Kentucky; that is the most recent thing that we are thinking about. Besides that, we are just focusing on the season.”

Prediction: The process remains in the infancy stages with Lewis and while there is a chance that a package deal could be in the works with best friend and teammate Bryan Antoine, it looks like Florida, Duke and Kentucky have the best shot with the super talented wing from New Jersey.

Recruitment: Offers from Tulsa, Oral Roberts, DePaul, Oklahoma State and Oklahoma

His day: Bryce Thompson didn’t begin his first game of the day in great fashion but he sure ended it nicely as he helped lead his Oklahoma PWP team back from an early deficit, throwing in two threes down the stretch which helped equate to 21 points on the scoreboard.

Quote (Kansas): “They are top of the line. I like the crowd, coach (Bill) Self, and just everything that they do.”

Prediction: Thompson has the makings of a Rivals150 prospects in the 2020 class and with even better upside to top it all off; seeing that his father played for Bill Self at Tulsa, if Kansas were to offer, it would be difficult to beat the Jayhawks at the end of the day.

Recruitment: Furman, Rhode Island, Seton Hall, Miami, Florida State, Indiana State and many others

His day: A total unknown entering the weekend, Vassell is going to leave Indianapolis as one of the more talked about junior prospects on Sunday evening. Despite a skinny physique, the Georgia native isn’t afraid to mix it up but his scoring abilities out to 22-feet puts him squarely on the radar of a bevy of high-major programs.

Quote (Florida State): “Coach (Charlton) Young, he has been real cool with me. He has just offered me a few days ago.

“They said I could be like some of the successful players that they had at Florida State like Dwayne Bacon.”

Prediction: The fact that Florida State was the first true high-major school to offer and thanks to their recent success with developing some of its wings, the Seminoles may be the leader with the unheralded prospect out of Georgia.

Recruitment: TCU, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, SMU, VCU, Florida and Virginia Tech

His day: Known for his shot making abilities from the perimeter, Keonte Kennedy showed he was more than capable of putting the ball on the floor and scoring at the basket. Throwing in 24 points off of 14 shots from the field, Kennedy tracks as one of the more underrated shot makers down south.

Quote: “I will probably set visits up in the fall and make a commitment shortly after that.

“I would like to take a visit to Florida, for sure.”

Prediction: A native of Colorado but now situated in the Lone Star State, Kennedy is intrigued by a top three of VCU, Virginia Tech and Florida; anyone of the three can be seen as an early leader in the clubhouse.

Recruitment: Virginia Tech, Duke, Memphis, Virginia, Cincinnati, Texas A&M, Wake Forest, Illinois and Florida

His day: There aren’t many more hard playing guys in the 2018 class than Darius Days. Someone that is more than happy to compete in traffic, Days is a consistent double-double threat as he posted 13 points and seven rebounds in his team’s win to end the evening.

Quote: “Virginia, Virginia Tech and Texas A&M, they are probably the most involved right now.

“No visits are lined up right now, I just have a long summer and I am going to wait until after the summer is over.”

Prediction: Wake Forest jumped in with an offer on Saturday but Virginia and Virginia Tech look to have intrigued the Florida native to where both are formidable favorites heading into the summer months.
