Impressive list for sophomore Roe

Left handed, possessing a wingspan of 7-feet and still growing, 2008 prospect Delvon Roe is putting up very impressive numbers for St. Edward High School in Euclid, Ohio. Roe, a 6-foot-7, 215-pound power forward, has an impressive list of schools recruiting him.
With his team having won six straight games and presently 12-4, Roe is averaging 23 points, 13 rebounds and 7 blocks per game.

Still developing physically and as a basketball player, Roe has a mature understanding of the game. As just a sophomore, he already has a go-to move in the post and a gift for blocking shots.
"I have confidence in my left handed jump hook," said Roe, who has gained 30-pounds since his freshman year. "That is the shot I look for. After I use it several times, I like to go to the up and under.
"Defensively, I stay on the ground until the ball leaves the shooters hand. I try not to anticipate and use my 7-foot wingspan to keep out of foul trouble."
As for his recruitment, Roe lists Michigan, Michigan State, Illinois, Ohio State, Louisville, North Carolina and Duke. Claiming no offers and no favorites, Roe is most heavily involved with the four Big Ten schools.
"Michigan, Michigan State, Illinois and Ohio State have all come to games or practices," he said. "Michigan is probably recruiting me the hardest. They have been in about six times, and I went there to watch the Michigan/Michigan State game. It was fun and interesting to see the atmosphere there. And the team is really starting to grow up.
"I'm also planning to unofficially visit Ohio State for the Illinois game."
Roe, who will the play with the 17-under King James Shooting Stars on the summer circuit, is primarily focused on improving his shooting range.
"I'm playing well, but there is still a lot I need to improve," he said. "I'm making the midrange shot, but if I can extend it to the three point line, then I can really do some damage."
