Illinois Warriors Awaken To Win Pool Playoff Game

LAKE BUENA VISTA, FLORIDA -- After the first 16 minutes of play, the Illinois Warriors had to be wondering if their stay at the Showcase would be much shorter than they thought.
At the half, YOMCA of Memphis, led 32-27. The lead expanded briefly in the third quarter until Illinois caught fire and pushed ahead 51-44 after three quarters. It was tied at 57-57 with 4:16 to go but then Mike Hall and Colin Falls took charge.

Hall led his team in scoring with 23 points whle Falls hit several key three-pointers to keep his team within striking distance. Falls finished the game with 19 points.
Charles Bass also had 10 points for the winners. The margin of victory, 72-62, was deceptive. But it will not get any easier for the Illinois Warriors. The big body of Sean May and the agile shotblocker Chris Hunter await the Warriors in the next pool playoff round.
The Insiders Report will give you the results on Friday afternoon after these two great AAU programs battle inside the Wide World of Sports complex.
