Ibrahim Has Two Options

Sani Ibrahim, a 6-11 center from the Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia, has not yet made up his mind on whether he will put his name into the NBA draft.
"Right now everyone is trying to understand the new rule change," Oak Hill head coach Steve Smith said. "So I can't say whether Sani will put his name in just yet. He has other options."

Smith would not discuss academic issues regarding Ibrahim. However, sources close to Ibrahim indicate that if Sani wants to play college ball it will have to be on the juco level. Sources tell us that Ibrahim is now, for the first time, considering that option.
Certainly, Ibrahim made some progress in the classroom and improved his game on the court in the latter part of the year for Oak Hill. But was it enough to convince NBA scouts? Well, right now, it has to be said that Ibrahim would have a hard time being drafted in the first round. So it might be the wise route to make a name for himself on the juco level before placing his name into the NBA draft.
By going the JUCO route too, this also gives Ibrahim another option. If he doesn't progress enough to convince NBA scouts, he would still have another two years at a major college to get to the League.
Ibrahim had some recruiting interest from West Virginia, Alabama, Georgia, Cincinnati, Illinois, Georgia, and Indiana this past year. But this interest was to find out where Ibrahim stood academically and whether there was any hope of him meeting NCAA requirements.
