Ibekwe Decides

Many internet sites are reporting tonight that Ekene Ibekwe committed to Maryland. Our sources do not dispute that claim. Ibekwe is supposed to announce tomorrow. He previously told RivalsHoops.com yesterday that he didn't have a decision. But a source close to Ekene told us tonight that he has made up his mind and committed to the Terps.

He chose Maryland over Southern California.

Ibekwe visited Maryland from Sept. 13-15 along with D.J. Strawberry (a Terp commitment) and visited Southern California from Sept. 27-29.

Back in the spring, he took his first official visit to Arizona, but the Wildcats opted to go in another direction this fall, and landed forward Ndudi Ebi. Kansas was no longer an option for the 6-9 forward from Carson H.S. in Carson, Calif. The Jayhawks landed David Padgett.
