Humphries To Play In Big Ten

It's over. According to a local newspaper report, McDonald's All American Kris Humphries will stay close to home and play at Minnesota.
Last year, Humphries first gave a verbal commitment to Duke and then signed a letter of intent last November. Then rumors swirled that Humphries was looking to get out of his letter of intent.

There was a meeting with Coach K but Humphries still seeked his release. Duke then published a statement saying Humphries had been given his release. Humphries, 6-foot-8 and 225-pounds from Hopkins High School in Minnesota, has since taken trips to Iowa State, Indiana, and Minnesota. Today, Humphries, through a statement, has committed to Minnesota.
Humphries, who has exceptional perimeter skills for a big man, needs to get tougher in the low post to be ready for his next step after college -- the NBA. But Humphries is a hard worker and a player who has the skills to be a pro someday.
