Sources told RivalsHoops.com that Kris Humphries, a 6-foot-8, 220-pounder from Hopkins H.S. in Minnetonka, Minn., has asked for and may be given a release by the Duke basketball program. RivalsHoops.com could not confirm this with Kris' dad in a telephone interview this afternoon. However, all indications are that Humphries has indeed asked for a release and is likely to get one from the Duke program.
Sources close to Humphries tell us that Humphries sat down with the Duke staff during the past couple of weeks. Humphries chose Duke over Kansas and Minnesota. He also has numerous other offers too. A source tells us that Minnesota and Indiana might be schools Humphries might look at.
Will Humphries have to sit out? After all, he signed a letter of intent with Duke. And there has been no coaching change to Duke to motivate Humphries to leave the Blue Devils. Would he be give a chance to play right away? There are many questions that needed to be asked.
Kris dad spoke briefly to RivalsHoops.com. He said there were rumors about his son leaving but couldn't confirm them. He then refused to answer more questions and politely hung up.
