Humphrey Has Three Offers

Billy Humphey, the No. 44 ranked shooting guard in the class of 2005, hit some huge shots during the Georgia Stars undefeated run through the Boo Williams Invitational and the Kingwood Classic. High majors are taking notice as three schools have offered the 6-foot-3, 175-pound shooting guard out of Dacula (Ga.) High School.
"My top three schools are Georgia Tech, Tennessee, and Auburn,” said Humphrey. “I’m also considering Wake Forest and Miami. Tennessee, Auburn, and Miami have offered me a scholarship."

Being close to his home, Georgia Tech is in a good position with Humphrey if they decide to offer him a scholarship.
"I like their style of play,” Humphrey said. “I also like that they’re close to home, so my family could come see me play."
Humphrey will learn more about Tennessee when he attends their camp.
"I like the way they play,” he said. “I'll learn more about them this weekend when I go up there for a camp."
The new coaching staff at Auburn has made a very good impression on Humphrey.
"I like their coaching staff a lot. They've done a good job recruiting me. I don't know a lot about their team but will learn more as time goes by."
As with most prospects, early playing time is a major concern for Humphrey.
"I just want to go to a place where I can play early,” he said. “I’m going to keep an eye on who commits to the schools and if they’re deep at my position."
Humphrey is a solid shooting guard who is very good at shooting off the pass and has a penchant for hitting contested and clutch jumpers. He stroked 6 three pointers in the Stars championship victory over the Spiece Indy Heat at the Kingwood Classic.
"I’m working on getting stronger this summer,” he said. “I also need to work more on putting the ball on the floor and going to the basket. I do it more in high school, but that's not my role with the Georgia Stars."
Humphrey, who has a 3.0 GPA and 960 SAT score, will attend the Nike Camp in July.
