Hughes Wants To Decide Early

Casey Hughes, a 6-5, 185 pound shooting guard/swingman from Hamden Hall H.S. in Hamden, CT, said he's received some scholarship offers.
We spoke with Hughes at last week's Triple S Harley Davidson Charlie Weber Invitational at West Virginia University. Hughes was one of the Connecticut Select players who, because of trouble with the team bus, got to the semifinal matchup against Virginia's East Coast Eagles when the game was entering the fourth quarter.

RivalsHoops.com's Brian Towey reported earlier this month that Hughes is, "... a lanky wingman who... is capable of putting it on the deck to slash for buckets."
Hughes said that he's received scholarship offers from Central Connecticut State, Hampton and Holy Cross. Other schools that he mentioned last week were Dayton, Massachusetts, Kent State and Yale in his New Haven, CT hometown. "There are more," he noted. He had told Towey that Albany and Hartford had also offered and listed Boston University, Cornell and Brown as other schools recruiting his services.
He averaged 21 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, and two steals this past season. Hughes, who said he'd like to decide early, carries a 3.6 GPA and has an 1180 SAT score. "I'm planning on majoring in economics or something in the business field," he added.
Hughes is in Las Vegas this week with the Select at the adidas Big Time Tournament. He's scheduled for the Five Star Camp at Honesdale, PA in August.
