Hughes Cuts List Down To 7

Liam Hughes, a 7-2, 260 pound center from Modesto Christian H.S. in Modesto, Calif., has pared his list down to seven schools this fall.
Five of those seven programs are members of the PAC 10 Conference. The seven schools are Oregon, Oregon State, Washington, Washington State, UC-Santa Barbara, Santa Clara and Stanford.

A native of Hull Bridge, England, Hughes has planned in-home visits with all seven of the colleges on his list. Six of the seven have offered, with the lone exception being Stanford.
Hughes has already hosted Washington State (Sept. 10), Oregon State (Sept. 12), Santa Clara (Sept. 14), Oregon (Sept. 16), UCSB (Sept. 17) and Washington (Sept. 19). Stanford will be the last school in on Sept. 24.
Hughes said he doesn't yet have a leader or leaders in his recruiting process.
"I think it's pretty early to say because there are two pretty big schools that haven't come in yet -- Washington and Stanford," Hughes said on Wednesday night, just prior to his UW in-home. "Most of the schools are in the PAC 10, and a few aren't, but I hope to wind up in the PAC 10."
"I think the campus visits will give me a better indication," he concluded.
Thus far, Hughes has only set up one official visit to Oregon. That will happen next weekend, from Sept. 27-29.
"They've been involved from the start," Hughes said. "I've had a lot of contact with Oregon over the past year."
Hughes said he plans on setting up more official visits at the conclusion of the in-home visit process, and Rivalshoops.com will keep you posted on any new information that comes to light.
