OVERLAND PARK, Kans. -- Led by a strong performance from rapidly improving power forward Jarvis Thomas, Minneapolis based Howard Pulley took the 17U crown at the Jayhawk Invitational. Five-star Jeremiah Robinson-Earl led KC Run GMC in the 16's while Team Superstar South won the 15 U. A look at some of the top players.

Recruitment: Offers from California, Arizona State, Iowa State, Marquette, Oregon State, Texas A&M and Pittsburgh.

His weekend: Thomas is a bouncy, active and tough four man who used his energy and ability to play above the rim to cause problems all weekend long.

Quotable: "Not counting the two new offers from Texas A&M and Pittsburgh, the two schools that have been standing out so far are Marquette and Arizona State."

Recruitment: Offers from Creighton, Florida Gulf Coast, Kansas State, Missouri, Oklahoma State, Tulsa and others.

His weekend: With Rivals150 teammate Jordan Lathon sidelined due to a wrist injury, Bishop had to step up and be more aggressive offensively. He can shoot with range, is athletic and has tremendous size. He is improving at a rapid race and from a style comparison, plays similar to former five-star Justin Jackson who just won a National Championship at North Carolina.

Recruitment: Offers from Tulsa, Rice, TCU, Incarnate Word and Louisiana Tech. Interest from SMU, Texas Tech and others.

His weekend: Philips is a big, strong and physical wing who showed improved ball handling and jump shooting. When he needed to most, he used that strength to bulldoze his way to the rim. A versatile kid who could even play some small ball four man on the next level.

Recruitment: Offers from Creighton, Iowa, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Oklahoma, Wake Forest and others.

His weekend: The highest ranked player in attendance, Robinson-Earl played up to his reputation while leading KC Run GMC's 16U team to a title. He played above the rim, dominated the glass, ran the floor and showed good touch to 12 feet.

Recruitment: Arkansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas Tech and others with early interest.

His weekend: A smooth scorer who can shoot from deep and create off the dribble, Moody was steady all weekend long in helping Team Superstar South to a 15U title. He's got long arms, is a good athlete and looks to be a safe bet to develop into a high major guard.

Recruitment: Offers from Creighton and Kansas State. Interest from Kansas, Wake Forest, Wichita State and others.

His weekend: Bouncy with creativity off the dribble and a high skill level, Berry looked the part of a future high major point guard over the weekend. He's a deadly shooter with deep range and lots of upside to build on as he gets stronger and adds experience.

MORE JAYHAWK INVITATIONAL NOTES

* Howard Pulley played without star point guard Tre Jones over the weekend and it allowed several players to shine. Four-star big man Daniel Oturu showed much improved physicality and has the look of a guy who could eventually be an All-Conference type defender on the interior at Minnesota. Shooting guard Gabe Kalscheur cooled a little from the three point line in comparison to his play in Nike's EYBL, but he made some key shots and had the opportunity to show what he can do off the dribble. He has offers from Minnesota, Northern Iowa, Drake and North Dakota.

* Combo guard Ronnie Bell of Team Rush has recently added offers from Missouri State, UMKC and Southeast Missouri. He is a downhill driver and scorer who plays fast and aggressive. Three-star big man Yor Anei has gotten himself into playing shape and appears primed for a big summer. If he is consistent, high majors will be very intrigued by his size, rebounding and interior defense.

* Sporting a Kansas State offer, three-star point guard Lamel Robinson from the class of 2019 was strong during the 16U finals. He's a competitor who has a knack for finishing around the rim and hitting tough shots. Already ranked in the top 60 nationally for 2019 and carrying offers from the likes of Creighton, Kansas, Kansas State and others, shooting guard Zach Harvey looked very confident with his jumper. He's grown to a little over 6-foot-4 and has length and budding athleticism.

* Three-star big man Grayson Carter of Dallas Showtyme Elite is going to have every chance to play high major ball. He's probably a center in college but he's one with skill and touch to 15 feet. Carter listed offers from Texas, TCU, SMU, Oklahoma State, LSU, Iowa State, Oklahoma, Houston and Tulsa.

* Another class of 2020 guard to keep an eye on is combo guard K.T. Raimey. He's capable of getting by most defenders with his flashy ball handling and he is a very good finisher in traffic. He listed interest from the likes of Tulsa, Wichita State, Illinois State, SMU and Arkansas among others.
