How Dedrick Finn Will Fit In At Xavier

Dedrick Finn, a rock solid 6-1, 170 pound point guard from Castle H.S. in Newberg, Ind., has given a commitment to Xavier of Ohio, according to his family. His AAU coach also confirmed the commitment.
"Dedrick made the commitment today," said one of his AAU coaches, David Elkin. "He is also in the process of playing football. He is a fine football player too. He plays wide receiver and safety."

Elkin told us that Finn will fit in nicely at Xavier. "If you need him to score, he will," Elkin said. "If you need him to shoot, he can."
Finn enjoyed a fine week of play at both the Great American Shootout in Denton and the BCI Nationals in Dallas.
Finn led the Warrick County Warriors to the title at the BCIs, and a final eight finish at the Shootout.
Finn previously told the Insiders Report that he was down to four schools this summer -- Xavier, Michigan State, Boston College and Mississippi State. Of the four schools, he had an offer from Xavier.
A very deliberate floor general, Finn plays a controlled game for the Wildcats' half court style, though his size and speed suggest he could play at a faster pace. Finn is very good at sizing up defenses and making quick decisions with the ball, whether to penetrate, dish or shoot.
He averaged 20.5 points, 5.4 rebounds, six assists and four steals per game as a junior at Castle High. Finn said he has a 2.9 GPA
