Homeschooled Swingman Picks A-10 School

Another member of the Springfield Rockets AAU program out of Missouri has committed to a Division I school as swingman Chauncey Duke gave a verbal commitment to the Atlantic 10's Duquesne Dukes. Duke, who is a 6-foot-7, 225-pound swing guard / small forward said he choose Duquesne over offers from Florida State, Georgetown and Arkansas. Last week, his Rockets' teammate Drew Richards committed to Southwest Missouri State over Arkansas, Texas Tech and Tulsa.
Duke, who visited Duquesne on September 15th, said he likes the Dukes up-tempo style and believes he can help the team in the future.. (Yes, the young mister Duke will be playing for the Dukes next season.)

"I am really impressed with head coach Danny Nee," Duke said who added that he had also visited Arkansas and Florida State before making his decision.
Duke is homeschooled and plays during the season with the Southwest Missouri Eagles which competes against the state's classes 3 and 4 teams during the school year. He said the Eagles were 31-2 last season. While not eligible for state events, the Eagles competed in a tournament in Dayton, Tennessee and the national homeschool event in Oklahoma City, Okla.
Duke, who said he averaged about 25 points, four assists and nine rebounds as a junior, stated that he got a 21 on the ACT and plans to major in business.
