Home Cooking Good For Johnson

Christian Faith Center head coach Vernon Wilson told us that Demarshay Johnson, a finesse 6-9, 203 pound power forward, signed with Oregon State for one very important reason.
"He did want to be close to home," Wilson said. "Oregon State is not that far from his home. It was the closest one that offered him a scholarship. He liked the fact that his parents could come see him play."

Johnson visited both Oregon State and Texas Christian University last month.
The Oakland, Calif., native had also taken a pair of trips to St. Joseph's (PA) University and Western Kentucky. He visited St. Joe's back in February and Western Kentucky in mid-April.
Johnson scored an 870 on the SAT, so as long as his core GPA is a 2.4 or higher, he should get through the NCAA Clearinghouse this spring.
