Holmes to Big 12

Jonathan Holmes became a hot recruiting commodity during the month of July. Now the power forward out of San Antonio (Texas) Antonian High School is headed to the Big 12.
At an afternoon press conference Holmes, 6-foot-8, 220-pounds, announced for Texas.
"It was the chance for early playing time, and I feel very comfortable with Coach Ogden and Coach Barnes," Holmes told Orange of the network. "I feel comfortable around all the guys there."
Texas beat out Baylor, Purdue and Texas A&M to land the in-state talent.
Holmes, the No. 83 ranked prospect in the Rivals150, five-star prospect Myck Kabongo and four-star prospects Sheldon McClellan and Julien Lewis in the Texas recruiting class, which is currently ranked No. 5 in the 2011 national team recruiting rankings.
