"It's been a long recruiting process and it's been fun though, a good experience," said Hollowell. "I'm pretty excited with my decision. The school I'm planning on attending will be Indiana University."
According to Hollowell, the decision process had been weighing heavily on his mind lately and he felt that it was time to get things over with.
"I've been thinking about it, I always think about it," said Hollowell of his decision. "This past week I've been thinking about it more and I wanted to go with my gut feeling."
A four-star prospect who is currently ranked No. 39 overall in the class of 2012, Hollowell is joining a stacked class of local stars. Already committed to coach Tom Crean's Hoosiers from 2012 are five-star point guard Kevin Ferrell, five-star power forward Hanner Perea, four-star shooting guard Ron Patterson and three-star center Peter Jurkin.
In the end, the chance to join those guys and make a run at returning Indiana to national prominence was too much to pass up.
"In Indiana I see something amazing about to happen," said Hollowell of joining forces with guys he's grown up with. "I wanted to be part of that and I didn't want to regret it down the line. Playing with those guys should be exciting, I'm happy about it."
His other finalists were Purdue, Ohio State and Cincinnati.
