Hold on for Pondexter

Although it has become an assumption that Quincy Pondexter will choose Washington over Connecticut at his press conference on Thursday, Pondexter would like for everyone to wait on him. The 6-foot-7, 195-pound small forward from Memorial High School in Fresno, Calif., maintains that he has not committed to yet to either school.
"I haven't committed yet," said Pondexter, the No. 50 prospect in the Rivals150. "I just know right now that I'm going to be a Husky, either Washington or Connecticut. I haven't told anyone that I've committed. I don't really appreciate the fact that someone would write that I've committed when I haven't told anybody."

What is definite concerning Pondexter's recruitment is that he will not visit Memphis as previously scheduled and he did very much enjoy his Washington visit.
"I really enjoyed the visit," he said. "I felt comfortable and everybody embraced me. I hung out with the players and Coach Romar and his family. I also had a chance to play with the team. That was fun."
Quincy Pondexter scouting report:
Pondexter is a strong competitor who can effectively guard a shooting guard through a power forward and possibly even a point guard. Offensively, he is a promising and developing small forward who will be able to play both forward positions on the high major level if he grows a couple more inches. He can adequately shoot the ball, drive it to the basket, and pass it. With his passion for the game, those skills should only improve with time.
