Holbrook Wont Enroll in Fall

Randy Holbrook, a 6-10, 240 pound center from Odessa J.C. in Odessa, Tex., didn't complete his associates degree requirements and won't be enrolling at Xavier for the fall semester.
Rivalshoops.com caught up with Odessa Head Coach Orlando Ontiveroz on Sunday, and he confirmed Holbrook's status.

"He came up short on graduating," Ontiveroz said. "He's sitting out this fall, but there's a chance he will enroll in December."
Ontiveroz said that Holbrook is still committed to Xavier, pending any future decision by the Musketeer coaching staff.
Of course, Xavier has several options. It could pull out of the situation, essentially making Holbrook a free agent. Or it could bring him in for the spring semester in January. In either case, he won't be suiting up for the Musketeer basketball (or any other D-I) program during the 2002-2003 season.
Ontiveroz said that Holbrook is currently taking an internet class from Odessa. However, he is going to need the fall semester to finish up his degree requirements.
We will keep you posted on Holbrook's situation in the weeks and months to come, so stay tuned.
