Hoerner Coming Back from Injury

2005 prospect Brett Hoerner is making progress in getting his game back together after being out a month and a half with a wrist injury. At 6-foot-10, 190-pounds Hoerner has some skill but needs to hit those weights. The Fullerton (Calif.) High School center has a top five and a favorite in the Pac-10.
“Washington, UCLA, Louisville, North Carolina, and Arizona are my big five,” said Hoerner, who runs with the Belmont Shore squad. “Washington is recruiting me the hardest and are my leader. They have been in contact a lot and Coach Romar came to watch me play this year.”

Hoerner came back less than three weeks ago from his injury. Not only was he unable to play for a month and a half, but he was unable to lift as well.
At times over the weekend he displayed flashes of a high skill level. Too many other times he lacked the strength and assertiveness to make any plays.
It could just be an issue of gaining strength and getting his touch back, but Hoerner might have the thin frame that makes it very difficult to put on weight.
It will be latter this summer before a truly accurate evaluation of his game can be made.
