Hilton Armstrong Update

Hilton Armstrong's recruiting has picked up significantly over the past couple of months. With the lack of talented big men limited in the class of 2002, Armstrong becomes an even more valuable recruit for some schools.
LaSalle and Connecticut are among his top schools with Rutgers and St. John's also trying with the Peekskill High School forward. Armstrong took in the Providence-Connecticut game last night on the Connecticut campus. But it appears that this could shape up as a battle between LaSalle and Connecticut.

Connecticut, like LaSalle, has offered Armstrong a scholarship. Armstrong is likely going to take an official visit to the Connecticut campus in the next month.
Armstrong is a soft-spoken 6-9 big man from Peekskill H.S. in Peekskill, N.Y. Earlier on in his process, it was widely reported by some internet services that he committed to LaSalle. Armstrong did not sign a national letter of intent with the Explorers this fall.
Since the end of the early signing period, programs such as Illinois, North Carolina and Connecticut have come up to scout Armstrong in games or practices. UNC nailed down two commitments while Illinois shows interest but not seriously.
Armstrong previously mentioned interest in St. Joseph's, Texas A&M and South Florida.
