Hilton Armstrong Discusses His Recruiting

Hilton Armstrong, a developing 6-9, 200 pound power forward/center from Peekskill H.S. in Peekskill, N.Y., has seen a big spike in his recruitment since deciding to sign late.
Armstrong took one fall trip to La Salle, and said that he Explorer program still leads in his recruiting process. In fact, La Salle Head Coach Billy Hahn and Asst. Coach Joe Lombardi were at Armstrong's game on Saturday night in White Plains.

Connecticut came in on Saturday to see Armstrong, while Illinois and North Carolina have been in to watch him practice over the past few weeks.
In addition to La Salle, UConn, Illinois and North Carolina, Armstrong said he is also considering St. Joseph's, Texas A&M and South Florida.
Last year at Peekskill, Armstrong averaged nine points, 12 rebounds and six blocks per game in his first year of varsity competition.
While he is not sure on his GPA, Armstrong said he has already attained a qualifying test score on the SAT.
Last summer, the Insiders Report/Rivalshoops.com had a chance to watch Armstrong play with the Westchester Hawks at the Rumble in the Bronx Tournament.
A fine and very mobile run/jump athlete with good hands, Armstrong played well in Peekskill's loss to St. Raymond's on Saturday night. He collected 13 points, five rebounds and four blocks in 26 minutes of action before fouling out with seconds remaining.
Armstrong is not yet a complete prospect yet, but he only recently turned 17-years old, so many consider him to have a lot of upside. Because of the lack of quality high school big men available this spring, expect many more high level schools to take a look at Armstrong this winter.
IR will keep you posted on his recruitment, so stay tuned....
