It was just a matter of time before Lawrence Hill made a commitment to Stanford official. On Sunday both Hill, the No. 98 ranked player in the class of 2005, and combo guard Anthony Goods, the No. 59 ranked player in the class of 2005, notified Coach Trent Johnson that they would play for him in the Pac-10.

"I've known for about a month that I’m going to Stanford but made it official today,” said Hill, a 6-foot-8, 205-pound power forward from Deer Valley High School in Glendale, Ariz. “Anthony Goods called me today and told me that he was ready to commit, so we called the coaches on three way and told them."
Hill, who has a 4.35 GPA, is as excited about what Stanford has to offer off the court as he is about is opportunities on the court.
"I feel great about going to Stanford. It's a great school with such a strong history and such quality people,” said Hill. “I will learn a lot about basketball and a lot about being a good person. I wish I could start right now. I’m going to be playing for a great coach and also receive a great education."
Anthony Goods, 6-foot-4, 170-pounds out of Corona Centennial High school in Corona, Calif., spoke high of the quality of experience at Stanford as well.
"I’m excited about going to Stanford,” said Goods. “I wish I could go right now. I visited last week and enjoyed it a lot. I like the atmosphere. It just felt comfortable. The people there are great. "
Both smart and athletic on the court, Goods lets the game come to him and does not force the action, yet when the opportunity arises, he is capable of ripping the ball to the basket and dunking on people. He expects to fight for a starting position at Stanford his sophomore year.
"’Ill probably play behind Dan Grunfeld my freshmen year and hopefully get the opportunity to start my sophomore year,” said Goods. “They are recruiting me at both guard positions. I don't have a preference on which position I play. I just want to play.”
Goods, who has a 4.0 GPA and 1100 SAT score, will be at the adidas Superstar Camp in July.
Hill, on the other hand, is hoping to get over an ankle injury and participate in the NBA Players Camp before he attends the Reebok ABCD Camp.
“On Tuesday I go to the Doctor to find out exactly what is wrong,” said Hill. “There is a chance it could be a fracture or ligament problems. I would love to play in the camp. I just don’t know. I have already been out more than two weeks.”
Hill is a skilled power forward with a quick burst around the basket.
