High-majors watching Wright

Saginaw (Mich.) High School continues to roll as the No. 1 Class A team in the state. Leading the way in the backcourt is unsigned senior shooting guard Larry Wright, who is picking up more high-major interest.
"Coach Alford from Iowa was here last week," said Saginaw head coach Lou Dawkins. "Arkansas is also interested. St. John's has been in three times. Illinois was in a couple weeks ago, and George Washington has also been to a game."

Coach Dawkins also noted that St. Bonaventure and San Diego State are also on Wright's list. Both of these schools have offered Wright, and Wright has officially visited both campuses.
Whom Wright will visit with his other three visits is still up in the air.
"We're not sure who he will visit," said Dawkins. "It depends on who shows the most interest."
As for his numbers, Wright is averaging 23 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists per game this year. Academically, he has a 2.4 GPA and is waiting on his ACT score. More offers will likely come in once Wright qualifies.
"Larry can really score, is a great leaper and has a very good in between game," said Dawkins. "He's playing really well, and I'm actually trying to get him to take more shots. He's almost too unselfish.
"Larry can lock his man up on defense. He is getting better everyday and learning the game.
"He does need to become a better ball handler to play point in college, which he might have to do because of his size."
