Coming into Saginaw to watch both Wright and Southern this spring were Arizona and Tennessee, and head coaches Tubby Smith and Tom Izzo came in as well.
A hard worker and definite high-major prospect according to Coach Dawkins, Southern improving on a daily basis.
"Josh is getting better everyday," said Dawkins. "He's very fluid with his left and right hand. He runs the floor very well and also possesses very soft hands. Out to 15-feet, he as very nice touch.
"He needs to work on a reverse pivot to the basket, but he will continue to only get better as he matures and gets stronger."
A testament to Southern's shooting touch is his 81 percent shooting from the free throw line during his sophomore year.
During the summer, Southern runs with the Michigan Mustangs.
