High Majors Keeping Tabs On Tabb

Since returning from an injury to his wrist that caused him to miss the first 10 games of the year, Josh Tabb has been a dominate force for Century High School. Because of his play on the court, the 6-foot-4, 190-pound shooting guard from Ullin, IL., has witnessed a number of high major programs become involved in his recruitment.
“St. Louis, Dayton, Illinois State, SIU, Illinois, Nebraska, Kansas, Marquette, Michigan State, Missouri and pretty much all of the Missouri Valley and Conference USA schools are recruiting Josh,” Century High School Head Coach Andy Palmer said. “Illinois came down for a visit and Nebraska was here for an open gym, but they have not seen him play yet. Illinois is pretty high on his list, so I imagine Josh will try to visit them officially, but nothing has been planned.

“I know that Kansas is a school Josh really likes as well, but I think a lot of that has to do with Coach Bill Self,” he added. “Josh is wide open when it comes to his recruitment, but those are some of the schools he likes. Just from talking with him, I believe he plans to take all five official visits.”
Many of the schools recruiting Tabb are still in the evaluation process of his recruitment. The 6-foot-4 shooting guard missed the first 10 games of the year due to an injury he suffered to his wrist, but that hasn’t stopped him from being one of the most productive players in the state of Illinois.
“Josh is averaging 19-points a game for us this year, but he missed the first 10 games of the year because of a wrist injury,” Coach Palmer said. “He has really been a productive player for us. He can play the point guard or shooting guard position and we use him on the perimeter and down low.
“Josh runs the floor extremely well,” he added. “He has the ability to score in a variety of ways. He can put the ball on the floor and slash to the basket, or he can hit from the outside. He has a good handle with the basketball and gets other teammates involved with his ball passing abilities.”
Coach Palmer indicated that Tabb had already taken the ACT, but had not received his test score as of yet. He is scheduled to take the test again in April.
