High Majors Interested In Jefferson

Jerry-Davon Jefferson, one of the elite players in the class of 2005, has seen his recruitment greatly increase within the last few months. The 6-foot-8, 190-pound small forward from Lynwood High School in Lynwood, Calif., is receiving interest from some of the most prestigious programs in all of college basketball. While Jefferson admits that he is wide open, a number of schools have his attention.
“Louisville, Kansas, Arizona, North Carolina and Washington are the schools that I am really interested in,” Jefferson told RivalsHoops.com. “Schools like Oregon, Oregon State, USC and Connecticut are definitely in the mix right now. Actually, Connecticut just started recruiting me, so I don’t know much about them at this point, but they are a school that I like.

“Washington and USC are the only schools that have offered scholarships,” he added. “That doesn’t bother me because I know that most of the schools interested in me are still in the evaluation process of my recruitment. I know that more schools are going to offer once they see me play this summer.”
Rivals.com ranks Jefferson No. 65 on the class of 2005, so it should come as no surprise that so many high major programs are interested in his services. Because he has so many options at this point, Jefferson is going to take his time with the recruiting process.
“I plan to take all five official visits in the fall,” Jefferson said. “I can tell you that I haven’t thought about all five schools that I would like to visit, but Kansas is one school that I definitely plan to see. I am still thinking about the other four visits and trying to make a decision, but nothing has been decided upon just yet.
“I can also say that location of the school will not be a factor in my decision,” he added. “I have no problem leaving home to attend college. At the same time, I have no problem staying close to home. I just want to find the best situation and best fit for me. Taking some visits in the fall will definitely help me decide what situation is best.”
