High-majors impressed with Lomers

After establishing himself as one of the top players in the class of 2006 this past summer, Josh Lomers is finally starting to see his recruitment heat up. The 7-foot-0, 250-pound center from Boerne (TX) High School is wide-open when it comes to his recruitment, but as it stands right now, six schools are currently showing a great deal of interest in the No. 30 ranked player in the class of 2006.
“Arizona, Baylor, Colorado, Georgia Tech and Texas are the schools that I am interested in,” Lomers said. “Texas A&M isn’t off the charts yet either. I have seen several coaches’ in the stands during my games this year. I wasn’t familiar with all of them, but I do know that coaches’ from Colorado and Georgia Tech have been in the stands a couple of times.”

There was a time when it looked like Arizona might be the team to beat for the No. 4 ranked center in the class. Lomers took an unofficial visit to Arizona during the weekend of Midnight Madness and was impressed with what he saw. However, the Texas native intends to take some official visits before making any decisions about his future.
“I will probably take all five official visits next fall,” Lomers said. “I have already taken an unofficial visit to Arizona, but I would like the opportunity to see some other campuses. I really don’t know what schools I would like to visit at this time, but that is something I will think about after my junior season of basketball is complete.”
Lomers indicated that Arizona and Baylor are the two schools that have offered him a scholarship.
