“I have already taken unofficial visits to Notre Dame, DePaul, NIU, Michigan State and Illinois,” he added. “The plan right now is for me to take some official visits next fall before I make any decisions about what school to attend.”
Bawinkel, the No. 104 ranked player in the class of 2006, fully intends to take all five official visits next fall. However, there is a chance that he might be ready to decide after taking just one or two visits.
“Michigan State, NC State and California are the schools that I would like to officially visits,” Bawinkel said. “I do plan to take all five visits at this time, but if I fall in love with a school after one or two visits, I will end my recruitment right then and there. I do think that getting a good look at all five schools that I decide to visit is the best option, but if that doesn’t happen, I won’t spend too much time worrying about it.”
As a sophomore, Bawinkel averaged 15.0 points, 5.0 assists and 6.0 rebounds for Winnebago High School.
