Trent Rogers, the 6-foot-3, 164-pound shooting guard from Strake Jesuit High School in Houston, Texas, has seen four schools emerge as the teams to beat in his recruitment. The three-star prospect is still waiting for his first scholarship offer, but it's only a matter of time before that takes place.

"Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, Arizona State and Oklahoma are my favorites," said Rogers. "I am also being recruited by Texas, Texas A&M, Iowa State, Stanford, Arizona and Texas Tech.
"A coach from Stanford has been by my high school," he added. "Arizona State, Rice, Houston and Vanderbilt have also been by. I don't have any scholarship offers yet, but the coach from Houston told me that they are very close to offering me."
After a frustrating sophomore campaign, Rogers is hoping to lead Stake Jesuit on a deep run when the playoffs arrive. Having lost just one starter, there is no question that Rogers and his teammates have extremely high expectations.
Stake Jesuit had an overall record of 17-14 last year and missed the playoffs, so Rogers is hoping to turn things around during his junior season.
"Our first game of the year is on Friday," said Rogers. "We had a very good preseason, so we are looking forward to the start of the regular season. "As far as my role goes, I am a combo guard. I can play the point guard or I can play the shooting guard.
"I prefer to play the shooting guard," he added. It doesn't really matter just as long as we win. We were 17-14 last year and missed the playoffs. We're picked to have a big year after losing just one starter from last year. Everybody is excited about the upcoming season."
