High Majors Calling On Pocius

Jamie Gallagher, the head basketball coach at Holderness School, has seen his world turn upside down within the last 24-hours. Media outlets from around the United States have been calling around the clock in hopes of acquiring some information about Martynas Pocius, the 6-foot-5, 190-pound shooting guard from Lithuanian.
“Things have been real crazy around here lately,” Coach Gallagher said. “Coaches’ from Kansas, Arizona and Utah have already been in to visit. Utah was in yesterday and stayed for a long time."

“Kansas has already been by to visit with Martynas," he added. "I know that UNC is coming in to see him, and Duke has talked about coming in as well. Virginia Tech is another program that is interested in Martynas. Things have been pretty busy around here, but the process has been great so far.”
Outside of the schools currently interested in Pocius, nobody knew who he was just 24-four hours ago. The Lithuanian native has become one of the most talked about recruits from the class of 2005, and for good reason.
High major schools from coast-to-coast have inquired about the silky smooth shooting guard. With schools like Kansas, Duke, North Carolina and Arizona beating down his door, there is no doubt that Pocius has the ability to play at the next level.
“It’s really not fair for me to speak for Martynas, but I don’t believe he will take all five official visits,” said. “I do believe he will take several official visits before making a decision about his future.
"Kansas would like Martynas to come out for late night, but nothing has been scheduled yet," he added. "We should have a better idea about what schools he will visit in the next few weeks."
