High majors calling on 2007 Jackson

While Dante Jackson is still in the beginning stages, a number of schools are beginning to show an increased interest in the 6-foot-5, 195-pound combo guard from McClain High School in Greenfield, Ohio. Jackson, a three-star prospect, has been to a number of campuses unofficially and is looking forward to taking some official visits in the future.
"Dante's recruiting is going very well," said McClain head coach Rick Van Metre. "Michigan, Xavier, Dayton and Kentucky are the main schools interest in Dante right now. Bob Huggins has also shown an interest in him and has been to a couple of our practices.

"I know that Dante has been to a couple of schools already," he added. "Xavier, Dayton, Michigan, Kentucky and Miami-Ohio are the schools that he has already seen. I don't know if he plans to use all five official visits, but I do know that Dante is looking to take some trips."
It should come as no surprise that so many high major programs are interested in Jackson. According to Van Metre, his star combo guard is having an excellent season so far.
"We are 16-0 right now and are the second best team in the state in Division Two," said Van Metre. Dante is averaging 28.5-points, five assists and nine rebounds per game for us. He is also shooting 44.5 percent from three and 66.5 percent of his field goals.
"Dante has really been a fine player for us this year," he added. "He has had some big games for us."
