High-major offers for young Kentucky guard

Beginning the season on the junior varsity team at University Heights Academy in Hopkinsville, Ky., 2008 prospect Scotty Hopson, a 6-foot-5, 185-pound shooting guard, now has three high-major offers going into the spring evaluation period.
"Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Clemson have all offered Scotty," said Hopson's AAU coach Jeremy Shulman of the Midstate Ballerz. "Memphis is also very interested as is Tennessee and Arkansas."

Once Hopson moved up to the varsity, he averaged 14 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. Although he will play for the 16-under Midstate Ballerz team, they will compete primarily on the 17-under circuit.
"Scotty has a good build," said Shulman. "He has long arms and is athletic. He can drive the ball and shoot it. He just needs to get a little more consistent with his outside shot."
