High Major Interest in Vinson Picking Up

Terrance Vinson, an athletic and intriguing 2005 prospect, has one mid-major offer. After his strong play in July for the Jacksonville Lee Bulls AAU club, the 6-foot-9, 215-pound power forward from Lowndes High School in Valdosta, Ga., is beginning to hear from some high majors.
“My recruitment has picked up since July,” said Vinson. “I’m hearing from Tulane, Auburn, Georgia Southern, Penn State, St. Joe’s, Chattanooga, West Virginia, and VCU. Chattanooga has already offered. I am just wide open now and waiting to see what happens.”

Along with winning, early playing time is important for Vinson.
“I’m looking for a winning program that has a team with a good coaching staff and a place where I have a chance to play my freshman year,” he said.
At 6-foot-9, Vinson is a good athlete who can run the floor and rebound. He is more of a face up player who needs to develop his back to the basket game. At this point, he is strongest on the defensive side of the ball.
“Terrance is a very good athlete who can run the floor and block shots,” said Jackson Lee Bulls coach David Jones. “He can hit the 15-footer, and he passes and rebounds well. Right now his defense is ahead of his offense. Terrance needs to work on playing with his back to the basket. He is a great kid who works hard and does whatever he is asked to do.”
Vinson will begin taking his visits after he takes the SAT on September 25.
